Episode 14 (final episode)

Sonia’s father was so touched by the words coming out of Sonia’s lips. He couldn’t believe such love exist. How can a living man bring back the dead by visiting the world beyond unconciously? It was beyond his thinking.

Francis withdrew from the hug smiling down at Sonia with so much happiness.
The door opened, and Inspector James entered. He had thought it was all a joke, but seeing they say, is believing.

His entry made Sonia look around,and then she saw those around her. All those that mattered most to her. With joy she called out their names “Mum! Dad! Kingsley! How did you all got here? How long have I been away to have made you travel down from Lagos?”

“So long that it felt like eternity my princess” Sonia’s father replied.
“yes my treasure, you’ve been away for too long that i feared i would die soon” her mother who sat by her left side added.
“Sonia, you left us hanging for more than a month. It was hell!” Kingsley spoke when her eyes fell on him.

“welcome back Sonia. I am glad you are hale now. It’s a testimony” James added after being silent since he entered, he had greeted them all with a nod.
Sonia looked at him with confusion all over her face. Who is he?

As if James read her mind, he said “I am Inspector James, Kingsley’s friend. And also the one in charge of your case”
Francis never knew they were friends, he was infuriated to know Kingsley had sent him, he looked at Kingsley with so much hate, but before he could speak, Sonia had started “an inspector? In charge of my case? For what?”

Kingsley explained everything to her and how Francis was arrested. Francis also took his time to explain all he went through since he got to Portharcourt and how he was arrested and tortured for nothing. He was boiling. It took a lot of strength from his inner being to stop him from pouncing on Kingsley.

Sonia was thrown off guard. She couldn’t believe Kingsley could accuse Francis of such. She tried sitting up but couldn’t,she had to lay back on the bed.
She apologized to Francis for causing him so much pain.
She explained how she had been miserable for the first two weeks thinking she had lost at both ends. She had waited for either Kingsley or Francis to show up at her hostel, but none came,and it drove her insane.

She refused to attend classes and couldn’t even take care of her room. She had felt her world crumbling. She had stabbed herself before Francis knocked,and she couldn’t move to open the door.

She was so bitter towards Kingsley for accusing Francis on assumptions.
Kingsley knew he had hurt them both, he went on his knees shamelessly and pleaded for forgiveness. He had done what he thought was right.

He loved Sonia too much to believe she stabbed herself. He had thought Francis did it out of jealousy.
Francis being a soft hearted man pulled him up and hugged him tightly. At least, he has Sonia back, that was all that mattered.

They were still in their tight embrace when Morgan walked in. Kingsley ran to her and gave her a big hug, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

Morgan explained how she went to his house to tell him she was pregnant,only to be told by his neighbour that he had been visiting the hospital recently. She got the address of the hospital,and came here to see him. What she had wanted to do was to inform him and leave because she was yet to forgive him.
But she got stucked at the entrance by their words and she decided to eavesdrop. She had heard all that happened.

She hugged Kingsley once again apologizing for not giving him time to explain himself. She had been blinded by jealousy and hate.
She then walked up to Sonia, pecked her on her forehead, and said “I forgive you Sonia, i understand what made you did what you did,and i am so sorry i wasn’t there for you”.
Sonia smiled with tears,and told Morgan to hug her. She did with happy tears.

Francis was glad at the turn of things. Morgan turned to him and gave him a hug too saying “you are a strong man. I am sorry for what you went through Francis”

It was a joyous scene for Mr and Mrs Emmanuel. Sonia’s mum went to her hubby to hug him too.
Inspector James apologized to Francis,and told him to visit the station whenever he has the time to get his things. He promised to have his name cleared from suspects record.

Francis couldn’t have been more grateful. He had his freedom and the love of his life back….
