“Hello? Guy u no dey sleep? Check time wey u dey call na. How dare u disturb a sleeping beauty?” Sonia blurted half sleepy, half awake into the receiver as she picked up her phone after the second ring. It was Kingsley her bestie.
“chai! Na winch dey pursue u for sleep? No be eleven just waka for clock? For your mind now u be beauty o. Anyway, no be why i call you be that. Ermmm, Sonia darling…
“hian Kingsley! What do you want to beg for again? Talk mummy is listening” Sonia couldn’t help but laugh at the bedroom voice he used in calling her name after dramatizing his earlier words. She knew he was up to something. Knowing him for a year and eight months has really established their bond and created more understanding.
Who would have thought she could get a friend to call a bestie right from facebook by just commenting on a mutual friend’s picture? She smiled as she waited for King’s answer, oh, how she loved to call him King.

“You see ehn, Kingsley started, my friend is having his birthday party tomorrow evening. He wants everyone to come with his or her partner. And you know you are the only sugar in my tea, i want to attend and i can’t attend alone. Will you go with me? Sonia baby” he smiled as he called her name.
“Ewoh! King! So you disturbed my journey to disney land because of a birthday party? You see? When I tell you to get a girl for yourself, you won’t listen. Now u wan come dey borrow another person bae” Sonia teased.
“ehn, another person bae, but my own personal person. I know you can’t fall my hand. See, no serious girl yet, and i don’t want to waste my time and resources on one chop and clean mouth girl. Just go with me, I no fine pass your boo ni? Do this for your baby na.”

Sonia laughed a bit louder “for your mind na. Where i go push you, you don turn my daily cross, i must to carry. No problem sha, pick me up when you are going, but call me before coming so i can get ready. Shey you know i must fine for you tomorrow.”
“Thanks bestie! I trust you’ll beat the girls to it. See you tomorrow. Oya close that ur frog eye run back go ur yeye disney land o”
“Welldone o King, you go repeat am tomorrow, yeye pikin. Goodnight jur” she replied and ended the call as she smiled to sleep.

“Sonia, I’m sorry about what happened at the party. I never knew the MC would bring up that sort of game. I’m so sorry we had to do that” Kingsley pleaded as he drove her home at the end of the party looking truly sorry.
“Stop it King! How many times will you beg me? It’s not your fault, birthday parties could be funny you know. See you sef, why didn’t you allow the other guy do the thing? Why did stand up immediately even after hearing the options? Sandra beamed
“haha! The options were crazy Sony. Either that ugly dude kiss you for 3minutes, or you give the celebrant a lap dance for 5minutes, or you make sounds like someone being banged for 7minutes or your boo comes to your aid and kiss you right on stage for 10minutes after dropping a sum of 2k. Jeez! That MC is so so crazy! If i had known, i wouldn’t have attend” Kingsley fumed.

“hahahahahaha, easy Mr King, you are driving o. Yeah he is truly mad, so tell me, why did you come to my aid? Sonia asked, this time solemly.
Kingsley glanced at her and smiled “see me see question o. We went there as partners, i did what i should have done. No reasonable man would watch his woman do those shits except he is very broke or doesn’t really like her. I can’t even stand it if that guy kissed you for 30seconds. I know my friend, if you give him a lap dance,he would keep hunting for you. If you did the moaning option, oh my! That would be disgusting and it will dent your image. ‘he paused, then added’, so the last option was the best” he smiled at this, and there was silence in the car.

“Francis dey enjoy o, so na dat sweet lips he dey chop alone. Chai! Baba God wey my own bae ooo” Kingsley jokingly said to lighten the atmosphere. It worked, Sonia laughed and gave him a light punch.
They joked all the way, till they arrived at Sonia’s hostel which was off campus. She waved him goodbye with smiles on her face, but a burden on her heart..
