My Desire

Episode 10
Kingsley called his inspector friend who goes by the name James, explaining to him how Sonia came to visit him and profess her love to him. He told him how Morgan caught them and informed Francis whom since then never picked his call. Only for him to meet Francis at Sonia’s room with a knife stucked into Sonia’s stomach and Francis holding the knife.
He also explained how he was punched by the same Francis.

Kingsley forgot about trying to contact Morgan, instead he was focused on how to fight for Sonia. He was convinced Francis stabbed her.
After paying a visit to his James office at his request to explain better, he gave out Francis number and picture for the police to work on.

On the third day of the incident, Francis decided to check on Sonia’s room since he forgot to lock it when they rushed her to the hospital. He had the mindset of checking her up at the hospital when he leaves her room.

Inspector James called on his boys so as to check up Sonia’s room for any evidence, probably she wrote a suicide note or something that could make the case clearer before inviting Francis for questioning and possible arrest. It was on that same day Francis left for Sonia’s room.

Francis got to Empress Castle at 10:15am and went straight to Sonia’s room after explaining his mission to the guards. He was tensed as he entered the room. The blood stains were already dried up and the whole room looked scattered. So unlike Sonia, she must have been a big mess during those two weeks.

With pain and sadness in his heart, he started re-arranging the room, with hope that Sonia will be back soon.
After sweeping, dusting, washing and spreading the bed sheets, he decided to clean off the blood stains, so he started from the kitchen.

Inspector James and his boys got to Sonia’s door around 12noon, he was about opening the door when he heard sounds from within the room. He then opened the door noiselessly, tiptoeing with his gun before him as he walked towards the kitchen where the sound was coming from. His boys were also at alert with their guns ready to fire.

He got into the kitchen and met Francis mopping off the blood, he lowered his gun to his side. Francis was lost in thought so he never knew he had companies.
After about a minute, the inspector spoke “hello Mr Francis”
this startled Francis that he jumped to his feet wondering who the intruder was and how he knew his name. He gathered up himself and asked “who are you? What are you doing here? How did you know my name?”

Inspector James smiled and said “one question at a time Mr Francis. I can see you got here before us to clear your track. Unfortunately, you weren’t fast enough”

“what do you mean? I came here to clean up the whole mess in my fiancé’s room and you are talking about clearing tracks. Who the hell are you?” Francis fumed.
“you’ll know all that when we get to our station Mr Francis” Inspector James showed him his i.d card and continued “you have the right to remain silent, for whatever you say now will be used against you in the court of law”
.
Francis couldn’t believe his ears and eyes as he watched the inspector call on his boys to handcuff him and take him to the car.
Inspector James made a quick search round the room but found nothing, so he left to join the rest while they zoomed off to the station.

All explanations made by Francis fell on deaf ears, it was believed that he stabbed Sonia out of anger and went back to clean the prints, he was advised to get a lawyer while they wait for Sonia to either recover or die to know the next step.

His three days stay at the police cell had made him look miserable as a result of the torture melted out on him to make him confess. He had called his lawyer in Lagos to seek for his help. His lawyer came around and told him to pray Sonia recovers so that the truth can be known, else it would be difficult to handle.
Francis had no choice than to keep praying for Sonia’s recovery. He was pained that he couldn’t even visit Sonia to know her state.

It had been a week since the incidence, Kingsley had been the one visiting Sonia who was still in Coma and he had been paying the bills. During this period, he had called Sonia’s mum to explain how Sonia is.
Her mum promised to show up the next day of the day she was called. She did, and on her arrival, she called Kingsley to meet her at the airport. Kingsley then explained the whole thing to her and how the suspect Francis, had been put behind bars.

Sonia’s mum was vexed at heart. She loved Francis as a son, how could he have done such? Why didn’t he inform her if he was innocent as he claimed?
She made a mental note of visiting him in cell after seeing her daughter…
